Caddie – Able to carry a player’s bag for 18 holes. Must be available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Knowledge and experience in golf is mandatory! Wear sneakers! No spikes or soft spikes are permitted.
Walking Scorer – Walk with an assigned group for 18 holes and record the number of strokes taken by each player. This score is not the “official score”. Wear sneakers, not spikes or soft spikes.
Marshall – Help to keep the crowd quiet by holding up a sign as players hit their shots.
Spotter - Stationed on the course in an area where a player may easily lose their ball. Responsible for helping them "spot" their ball.
Shuttle Driver - Shuttle players and caddies from green to next tee at certain locations. Must have a valid drivers license.
Hospitality – Serve as hosts and hostesses for VIP tent, volunteer tent and/or player tent. Provide assistance with serving food and keeping area clean.
Leaderboard – Responsible for keeping the on-course leaderboards up to date as information is given via radio.
Operations – Assist with golf course set-up and maintenance. Fill water coolers on the course. Help with keeping the course clean during the event, and assist with tear down and clean-up after the event.
Scoreboard – Responsible for writing players’ scores on the main scoreboard after cards are turned in and verified.
Pro-Am Bag Drop or Check-In – Assist The Links at Gettysburg staff with loading golf bags onto the correct carts. Work at a registration table to help Pro-Am players check in.
Real-Time Scoring – Stationed at a green for several hours. Get scores from cart drivers after players finish that hole. Communicate scores to person on computer to be posted on the internet.
Standard Bearer – Usually young adults or teenagers who are capable of walking 18 holes and carrying a light-weight sign that posts the players names and scores. Golf knowledge is important in order to be able to properly calculate scores. Radio scores to leaderboard after each hole is completed.
Timer – Stationed at a green for several hours. Radio times to Duramed FUTURES Rules Officials.
Volunteers will be contacted by phone by a chairperson on the Gettysburg Championship committee. More information about specific responsibilities and shift assignments will be shared at that time.
